freshman enrollment 2015
The DCHS Counselors will be at your school soon: Sacred Heart on Thursday, Feb. 26th. Dodge City Middle School on March 4th. Comanche on March 10th. On that day we will be asking you to request a total of 8 credits (adding up all .50 credits and whole credits), and then list four classes as alternates.
The alternates can be .50 credit or whole credit and will be used them if any of your requested classes cannot be scheduled due to conflict or full. Most freshman will have an
English 9 class = (1),
a Physical Earth Science class = (1),
a World History class = (1),
and a math class = (1).
If students are not signed up for summer PE, they will also have a Freshman PE class = (1).
As you can see that is already 5 credits, so you would have 3 more credits to pick. Most students will also pick speech during their freshman year to get this graduation requirement completed. Forensics or Debate can count for speech.
Don't worry, we are going to help you! However, we did want you to look over the sample enrollment form that is attached to this e-mail (just click on the right side where it says "Attach"). If you don't know what a class is about then read the course descriptions in the DCHS Catalog at www.usd443.org, then schools, then high school, then student services.
